Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information ReptilePro ("ReptilePro," "we," "our," or "us") processes when you use the ReptilePro mobile application, why it is processed, how it is shared, and the controls available to you.
Privacy at a Glance
- The free core works locally without an account.
- Cloud synchronization is used only after you sign in.
- Feedback is sent only when you actively submit it.
- ReptilePro has no advertising, cross-app tracking, or automatic analytics.
- You can delete cloud data or permanently delete your account in the app.
1. Information We Process
1.1 Data stored on your device
While signed out, information you create stays on your device. This may include:
- Animal profiles, species selections, measurements, notes, and profile photos;
- Enclosures, residents, equipment, maintenance information, and enclosure photos;
- Feeding, health, growth, weight, cleaning, and environmental records;
- Reminders, task history, breeding records, and incubation information; and
- App preferences, notification choices, units, and appearance settings.
The bundled species library is read-only reference material and is not uploaded as user data.
1.2 Account and cloud-sync information
If you choose to create an account or sign in, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, display name, account identifier, sign-in provider, and any profile image supplied by the selected provider. Sign-in may be completed with email and password, Google, or Apple.
Supported records and preferences are synchronized through Firebase Firestore, and eligible photos are synchronized through Firebase Storage. Firebase Cloud Messaging processes a device token to deliver private synchronization hints. These hints do not contain your care-record content.
1.3 Purchase and subscription information
Apple and RevenueCat process product, purchase, subscription, and entitlement information. When you are signed in, ReptilePro uses your Firebase account identifier as the RevenueCat App User ID so Pro access can follow your account. ReptilePro does not receive or store your payment-card details.
1.4 Suggestions and support requests
Only when you tap Send suggestion, ReptilePro sends the following to Cloudflare:
- Your message and, if you provide a valid address, your optional contact email;
- App version and build number;
- iOS version, device model and architecture, and locale; and
- Random installation and session identifiers used to operate and protect the feedback service.
The submission does not include your Firebase user ID, password, account token, advertising identifier, or animal-care records. ReptilePro does not currently send automatic analytics, crash reports, or background diagnostic events.
1.5 App integrity and network information
To protect the feedback service, Firebase App Check uses Apple App Attest or DeviceCheck to process an app and device integrity proof and issue a short-lived token. ReptilePro sends that token to Cloudflare for validation. Cloudflare also processes network metadata, such as an IP address, to deliver, secure, and rate-limit the request. ReptilePro does not save the App Check token or IP address in the feedback record.
2. Device Permissions
- Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo for an animal or enclosure.
- Photo Library: Used only when you choose photos to add to ReptilePro.
- Notifications: Used for care reminders, app messages, and private cloud-sync hints when you allow notifications.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission limits only the feature that requires it.
3. How We Use Information
We process information only as needed to:
- Provide local record keeping, reminders, photos, reference material, and Pro features;
- Create and authenticate accounts;
- Synchronize supported data between your devices;
- Deliver notifications you have enabled;
- Verify purchases and subscription entitlements;
- Respond to feedback and support requests; and
- Protect the app and its supporting services from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
4. Service Providers and Sharing
We disclose information only to service providers that help operate ReptilePro, as described below, or when required by law:
- Apple: App distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, notifications, and device integrity services. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google/Firebase: Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Functions, and App Check. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
- Google Sign-In: Authentication when you choose Google as your sign-in provider. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: Feedback delivery, protection, rate limiting, and temporary retention. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
5. Storage, Security, and International Processing
ReptilePro uses platform security controls, authenticated per-user access rules, and HTTPS/TLS for data in transit. Cloud service providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live, subject to their privacy terms and applicable safeguards. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Retention and Deletion
- Local data: Remains until you delete it in ReptilePro or uninstall the app.
- Synchronized account data: Remains until you use Delete All Cloud Data or Delete Account.
- Feedback: Suggestions, optional contact email, and associated app/device context are retained for no more than 90 days and are then automatically deleted.
- Installation identifier: Clear All Data, cloud-data deletion, and account deletion reset the local feedback installation identifier.
Delete All Cloud Data removes synchronized records and photos while keeping your sign-in account. Delete Account also removes Firebase sign-in. These controls are available under Settings → Account and may require recent authentication.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. You can:
- Use the free local features without creating an account;
- View, edit, and delete individual records in the app;
- Turn notifications off in ReptilePro or iOS Settings;
- Omit the optional feedback email;
- Delete synchronized data while keeping your account; or
- Permanently delete your account in ReptilePro.
To make another privacy request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your request to protect your information.
8. Children's Privacy
ReptilePro is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to personal-data processing in their location. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when ReptilePro or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel.
